*** THIS SURE IS A LOT OF PRETENTIOUS WORDS BUT I'M TOO LAZY TO ERASE IT AND REPLACE IT RIGHT NOW ***
I don't exactly know who I am so I'll guess here.
We'll start with the obvious and useless: My name is Phil, I'm a college student in the city of Louisville at the eponymous University. 01.25.85. A Friday. Male. Dark brown hair, blue eyes, varying other stats.
But who am I?
I'm a musician. I play guitar and write songs. This makes me just like everyone in the universe but different too. No two people who are truly writing songs are writing the same song - or everyone is writing the same song. Either way.
I'm a philosopher. That means I think. In that, I am similar to everyone in the world. My conclusions, however, are often different. Not always. They don't have to be.
I'm tired of this gimmick. Profiles don't need gimmicks.
I don't believe in nonconformity. I think that everyone who tries desperately to be different from others ends up looking just like everyone else. It's a phase I suppose we all must pass through - but that doesn't mean I feel any need to show any respect to anyone who tries to prove how edgy or different they are.
This is a pretty big world and it's hard to find the truth by one's own. I say the truth comes from three places - already-distilled knowledge, truths found internally through contemplation or revelation, and the observation of the survivor in a clash of dissonant opinions. Towards the last end, if you want to clash opinions with me - and I mean for the sake of distilling *truth*, not for the *clash's own sake*, feel free to message me.
A favorite adage of mine, although I likely mangled it:
"Rudeness is the weak man's approximation of strength."
